Our mission
We exist to continue the work of Jesus Christ, by connecting people to God, nurturing one another in love, and serving Him both near and far, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Service is a key part of our mission and the people of St. Luke love to serve! Whether it is in the streets of Peru in South America or with our neighbors nearby, we do our best to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Getting Involved
Mentors and Friends
We serve as mentors to children at Ensley Elementary School, and provide food for many of the children to ensure they have food over the weekend. Other ways we serve the families at Ensley include:
We give 25 families groceries at Thanksgiving for dinner and to help stock their pantries
Children receive Christmas presents from our Secret Santa program
Backpacks filled with school supplies are waiting for students on the first day of school.
As Helping Hands
A number of us serve at Bright Bridge Ministries. Located in one of lowest income areas of the city, Bright Bridge provides food, shelter and support for those who cannot help themselves. We cook and serve food, provide much needed supplies, and maintain one of the rooms in the His Place shelter.
Bringing Joy to Kids
We hold a number of events throughout the year for children:
Easter festival for preschool children
Vacation Bible School
Pumpkin Patch pumpkin sales
Halloween Trunk and Treat
Night in Bethlehem in December
Manna Food Bank
On Super Bowl Sunday we hold a food drive for Manna Food Bank. Manna provides food to organizations throughout the area who serve hungry families.
Ensley Elementary
There are a number of families at Ensley that struggle to make ends meet. We helped in many ways:
